The Inukshuk
The Inukshuk was built by the Inuit people of the Canadian Arctic to serve as a directional marker to guide those who followed. An "Inukshuk" (plural: Inuksuit) is an Inuit word that literally translated means "stone man that points the way". Inukshuks are stone cairns that were erected by Inuit at prominent locations to serve as guideposts or markers.
As a symbol for the ISF World Seed Congress 2010 in Calgary Alberta, the Inukshuk marks the opportunity for the members of the global seed community to come together.
